Doro 8020X Designed To Monitor Lone Worker Safety

If you are a lone worker, this might be something that will interest you. Around six million people in the UK work in isolation or without supervision. Employee vulnerability is a concern, as is the risk of work-related injuries and Doro have introduced new technology to remotely monitor worker safety.

The Doro 8020X smartphone is the first of this brand’s products to be targeted outside the over-65 age range since their mission is to provide expert technological solutions that support the most vulnerable people. The 8020X is designed for those working from home, in isolation or those who work outside ‘normal’ hours in remote premises. It is designed to cope with challenging working environments such as construction and agricultural sites or those working in healthcare and carrying out home visits. It has a measured IP rating of 67 making it resistant to dust and can be submerged in 1 metre of static water for up to 30 minutes.

This smartphone is fitted with an assistance button and is compatible with the Doro 3500 Bluetooth wrist trigger. The alarm can be sent in many ways, depending on the employer’s requirements including sending an SMS with the worker’s GPS location to up to five pre-programmed contact numbers. It dials the numbers in rotation until help is acquired.

It is also compatible with the Doro Alarm Application which connected the smartphone with the employer directly through the cloud or a selected Alarm Receiving Centre. The Doro cloud service is called i-care online which is a portal that offers remote provisioning and supervision capabilities and monitors the battery status and network connection of the alarms. Should there be any problems, the notifications are sent to the employer or colleague of the worker using HTTP or the web portal. It can also be accessed 24 hours a day by employers to check the wellbeing and location of their workers and access to this is available for an annual subscription of €48 per year, per device.
