Review: XQisit XQ S20 Bluetooth Speaker – Where style meets sound

xquisit

There are a lot of Bluetooth Speakers out there, and a lot of them claim to be the next big thing. XQisit though, are doing it the opposite way, i.e. they have packed a Bluetooth speaker in a compact package, something that can easily fit in a pocket (at a stretch) or of course your bag, and still deliver sound as well as ability to make phone calls.

In our review, we take it for a test drive, and see how useful it really is.

Look and feel

This is a speaker that is designed to look good. A black grill has a silver (or gold) rim around it, which is beautifully finished. The top features a couple of buttons that can be used to adjust volume, as well as turn it on or off.

The right side features a list of ports, that allow you to plug a 3.5mm connection in, or charge the device. You even have a charging USB port to charge your phone on the move.

The design is beautiful and sleek, and a pleasure to see and behold. And as cheesy as that statement sounds, I stand by it!

Setup

Rather simple, like most Bluetooth Speakers these days. You turn on, you look for it, you pair, and you’re good to go. From there on, it should connect with your device every time you turn it on.

Sound Quality

So, you have a small set of speakers that say that they can be used outdoors. What do you do? Of course, turn them on, and turn up the volume. See if they can deliver. I am happy to report that the XQ S20 definitely delivers. It is loud, it has bass, and it has the volume you need, whether you are indoors, in a big room, or outdoors. Be it a picnic, or just a lazy day by the pool, the speakers have the power to deliver some tunes.

Sound quality is rather decent, with a reasonably good tonal balance.

Calls

Making calls on this is a simple affair. A built in microphone is able to pick up sound from you, even if you are at a distance, which means that you don’t need to lean in or use this speaker as a secondary ‘handset’. Both speaker and receiver quality was good, and it performed well on our test calls.

Battery Life

This promises 10 hours of battery life, and it delivered on it easily. It charges in around 4 hours, which is good too.

Verdict

Beautiful, simple, sleek and powerful. What’s not to like!
