Review: Dali Zensor Pico

Sound systems come and go, and many technologies change, but one set of things has been universal for about a hundred years, and that is a good set of speakers is what you need for great sound quality. Danish manufacturer Dali is known for their high quality sound, and the Zensor series of speakers has been a winner for them. Their offering in the form of PICO speakers gives you a great and expansive sound in a reasonably small footprint.

Feature set

  • Low loss construction
  • Zensor Series features the Dali Driver Design
  • Wood Fibre Cones
  • Soft Dome Tweeter
  • Small footprint

In the box

The box contains two speakers, a manual (of sorts), and nothing else. No cables or connectors.

Of course, that is standard with high end speakers, so can’t really complain!

Look and feel

The speakers are fairly compact, and look the part.

The back has a wall mounting hole, as well as a couple of banana 4mm sockets to allow you to connect this in whatever configuration you want.

Setup

The most cumbersome part of the setup will be mounting or deciding where these speakers go. After that, you plug them in and you’re good to go.

Ease of use

There is no ‘control’ element on the speakers, so it is all down to what these are connected to.

Sound Quality

The sound quality on these speakers definitely speaks volumes, and every pun intended. Powerful, clear, and providing a good tonal balance, these speakers work great as a set of two, or in bigger configurations. As they can be connected in whatever configuration one fancies, there is a choice to do more with them.

Everything from classical music to Bowie sounded great, specially the clarity on offer was great.

When it comes to volume and power though, these really shine. This was evident while playing games or watching movies.

A good overall package, which does not disappoint on any front.

Verdict

A great set of speakers packaged in a small size, and at a great cost. They even look good on top of that! What’s not to like?
