IFA2015: Motorola announces the new Moto 360 collection

We had all heard the rumours, but it is always good when you can actually see the real deal. They were true though, Moto 360 is back with a new collection, bringing more styles, more features, and that magical quality, more battery. The collection offers countless design possibilities, suiting any individual’s tases, plus new experiences that let you do even more with your watch.

The Design

The original Moto 360 bucked the trend by releasing the first round watch. The second generation brings a new set, designed for men, women and fitness enthusiasts. It comes with shapes and sizes to match men and women separately, and polished bezels to give you that look you want. Bands are quick-release, so you can easily swap them between metal, plastic, or whatever your style of the day is!

Customise it

Taking from the Moto Maker options of the Moto G and X, you can now apply the same to the Moto 360. Options include additional bezels, colours, materials and even a new double wrap band. Design it, and have it delivered within just a few days.

Apps

A smart watch is all about the apps it offers, and with Android Wear, the Moto 360 gives you all the control right from your wrist. The idea is that you never have to look at your phone for the sake of notifications.

It goes further. You can respond to messages using voice, and with WiFi connection, you can even get messages from your phone when it is out of Bluetooth range.

Live Dials, a feature exclusive to the 360,  makes it easier for you to dive in with shortcuts right on the watch face, rather than having to scroll.

Health and fitness

Of course, like all other smart watches, this packs in a fitness tracker, using accurate sensors to measure not only your steps, but also your heart rate, to give you a complete picture of the calories burnt. Ergo a new fitter and healthier you.

Not enough with just the fitness readings? Then you need the Moto 360 Sport.

This even lets you leave your smart phone at home while you go on your daily run. This is thanks to the built in GPS, which tracks your speed, distance and pace, plus the heart sensor measures your vitals. You can even play music right from your wrist. Definitely something I can live with, as carrying a phone with me on my runs is never a great feeling.

The watch also features the new AnyLight hybrid display, promising a bright display even on sunny days.

The watch is also fitted with a comfortable design, keeping in focus your workout. A strong silicone construction with UV coating wicks away moisture, and resists fading or staining. Side ventilation is designed to help you stay cool.

Product Video

Here is a video from Motorola highlighting the features. From first look, I thought that we had the same black band at the bottom, but as you go through the video it is obvious that you just see that on some apps.

Over all though, it looks good and offers all that Android Wear has.
