According to Estately, Alaska is the most likely state to survive a zombie apocalypse and New Jersey is the least likely. And YouGov reported 14 percent of Americans think there’s a chance the zombie apocalypse could happen. If you don’t have time to head to Alaska or just want to be extra diligent about your end of the world safety, pick up some high tech zombie apocalypse tools to help you survive.

Water Purification System

You won’t get very far during the apocalypse without fresh water at your disposal. Pick up a UV water purification system, like the CamelBak All Clear, which can turn any tap or natural water into potable water in 60 seconds. That’s probably enough time if you’re approached by one or two zombies, but better wait and purify if you see a stampede of the undead coming your way.

Satellite Phone

Unmanned phone lines and crashing smartphone towers aren’t a problem with a satellite phone at your disposal. Keep in touch with your people with an Iridium satellite phone or a Geopro for 2-way messaging your survival partners. The Iridium also can get a little wet without risking breakage and take a beating, so it could double as a weapon when face-to-face with a walking corpse.

Power Pot

Cook up your dinner and charge your phone via a USB at the same time with the Power Pot. As the water boils, it helps generate the electricity you need to get a USB charge. It can take a few hours to fully charge up a phone and other devices, so it’s best used when you’re clear of zombies and don’t have anything else to do but cook, charge and take the night watch.

Survival Tablet

A sexy, slim tablet probably won’t do you much good when the end of the world hits, but the super durable and rugged Earl tablet can not only survive, but thrive. It serves as a navigation device, walkie talkie, emergency radio and solar charger. It’s waterproof, shockproof and still works in temperatures from 32 up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tree Tent

Get off the ground and out of zombies’ way for a good night’s sleep. The Tentstile Tree tent acts as a portable treehouse to hang above the ground and snooze. It’s a good idea to be high enough off the ground to go undetected. Have an escape route in mind like strong tree limbs or a nearby lake in case you awaken to zombies below waiting for a buffet.

Solar Powered Backpack

Throw all your gear into a solar powered backpack like Voltaic System for a quick sprint when the infected ventures near. A converter solar backpack can charge all your electronics, and comes with a laptop sleeve if you’re trying to work out a vaccine or cure for the epidemic.

Night Vision Goggles

All the gadgets in the world won’t do much good if you can’t see the zombies coming for you. Strap on a pair of PS15-4 GEN night vision goggles to see everything from wild animals to the undead at night. Retailing for upwards of $10,000, it may be worth the investment so you don’t lose a limb during the apocalypse.
