Maybe it is the way things are done in America, or maybe Motorola are taking a leaf out of Apple’s book. While a lot of Google fans will probably hate me for saying this, but the Moto 360, Motorola’s plunge into the smart watch market, is something many would have wanted Apple to create. While no real images or videos are available (yet), and we only have renders and a very Apple-istic video to go by, it looks good, and unlike most other watches out there, it is round!
Actually, we’ll save you the trouble, check out Motorola’s video below to get an idea of what I am on about…
Still here? So, what do you think?
The idea is simple. Analog watches have mostly been round, and that is what we are used to when we look at watches. Motorola want to cash in on that, and to be honest, they have taken on quite a challenge as most electronics are designed to fit in rectangular or square spaces, most importantly, screens. Having said that, anything and everything can be made!
So, what does it do? The usual. Tells you the time and date, and from reading between the lines, we are hoping it has an always on screen. Coloured E-Ink perhaps?
Then there are notifications and subtle alerts. It promises to take this from calls and texts to your friends’ social posts.
And of course, based on Android Wear means that OK Google will work on this too.
While not much more is known, it will be available this summer, starting in the US.
