Review: Kensington Comercio Soft Folio Case & Stand

What is it?

This is a case for the iPad Air, but it isn’t just any case. It is designed for the businessman, with a great finish and sleek look, as well as pockets for visiting cards as well as pocket to store papers in.

Look and feel

iPads are premium devices, and it is only fair that they are protected in premium cases. Kensington looks to offer you the Comercio Soft Folio Case & Stand to fulfil that need. The outside has a grey fabric wrapped around like a file cover, with a little fold in it to aid you in making the tablet into a stand.

On the back is a little flap to put your case in when you make it into a stand, as well as ports for both your rear camera and speakers.

Open it and a soft grey lining is revealed, designed to keep your iPad well cushioned.

On the left is a paper pocket to store any documentation, as well as sleeves to hold visiting cards and such like.

Installation

Your iPad Air is actually held in place by sheer friction and the fact that the case is so well fitted. A small flap under your iPad is all you need to tuck it into place once it is slid in.

Taking it out is equally simple.

We are big fans of easy in and out, specially since we try out so many cases, and this means you an always opt for this case when out on a meeting, and switch to something else if the need is for a different style of case

The Pockets

The pockets are also fairly useful, but sadly there is not much more to say. As they say, happy stories are fairly boring to explain.

Stand

To turn it into a stand, you fold the top flap back, and slide it into the flap on the back. Once in, the stand is fairly sturdy, and you can perch it in both vertical or horizontal mode. Once again, not much to talk about, but that is definitely a good sign.

Magnetic Cover

And to wrap it all up, the cover comes with a magnets which means that not only does it turn your iPad Air in sleep mode with the cover closed, it also automatically keeps your cover closed when left to its own devices. Useful for people who carry their tablets in backpacks where there is the risk for the case to open and and other things to scratch against your device or its screen!

Verdict

A case that packs in a lot of features, and delivers them all fairly well. A must have if you’re the travelling businessman type.
