Nokia bring the Lumia1320 to UK

After Nokia created much excitement in the USA with the Lumia Icon, they have announced a completely different phone in the UK, under the name Lumia 1320, sticking to the traditional Nokia naming convention of four digits. The Lumia 1320 brings a 6inch  screen, with the promise of a low price point. It brings with it the latest imaging features, something we already love from the Nokia range. It already features Nokia Camera, Nokia Storyteller, and other much loved Lumia experiences such as HERE mapping, unlimited streaming of ad-free music with Nokia MixRadio, and of course the larger screen brings the extra column of icons on the Home screen.

“We are building on the continued success of the Lumia range by looking to offer the latest Windows Phone in a large-screen smartphone format at a highly competitive price,” said Conor Pierce, VP of Nokia in the UK & Ireland. “Consumers and particularly businesses will love its large screen, warm industrial design and the richer imaging experience it is able to deliver. The Nokia Lumia 1320 brings a cost effective addition to our large screen Windows Phone portfolio.”

The Nokia Lumia is mostly about giving people a large screened phone at a lower price. This means that Nokia have given certain things a miss. Such as having a lower end processor, less built in memory (8GB) than most high end phones and 1GB of RAM. The camera, while it comes with the magic of Nokia Camera app, is also 5MP, compared to the ridiculously high megapixels we have come to expect off of Nokia’s phones lately.
