Don’t know about you, but I definitely like to have a go at the educational games out there. Perhaps, I am attracted to puzzles. I may not persist, but hey, even Angry Birds is an educational game really. One game to really stand out lately is 6 Numbers by Brainbow. It is a game that is simple and ancient, and has often been featured on various shows and newspapers/magazines alike. Just use 6 numbers and mathematical symbols of plus, minus, multiply and divide to get to the target number.

The game has been so successful that it has managed a million downloads in just 8 weeks, making it the fastest growing app on the iOS market. As the press release, below, states: 6 Numbers has been in the top ten puzzle games in more than 50 countries, with the UK, USA and France having the most users by population. In the UK, users are more likely to be women than men – 52% to 48% – and will typically spend between 22 and 31 minutes playing the game each day. And southern users successfully complete 20% more levels than their northern counterparts.

UK is the biggest market for 6 Numbers smart game app – showing the potential exists to reverse the declining interest in maths 

 

Proving that you can make maths fun and that people will then enjoy it, 6 Numbers from Brainbow has taken just eight weeks to pass the million-user mark; making it the fastest growing edugame in the app store history.

6 Numbers is a free puzzle game that aims to help users practice to become better at maths – the game also acknowledges that the way to make people practice maths is to make it more fun.

Budding maths stars attempt to reach a target total via a combination of adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing six given numbers.  Users can play alone or with friends via facebook and twitter, can add more levels and can buy hints to levels they find particularly tricky.

And with 6 Numbers, people certainly do play. 6 Numbers has been in the top ten puzzle games in more than 50 countries, with the UK, USA and France having the most users by population.
