Apart from their flagship phone, Sony have also released a couple of phones in the ‘mid-price’ range. One of them is Xperia L, and by no means is this an ordinary phone. Extremely stylish, with bold curves and brushed finish buttons and frames, this is one beautiful phone to look and be seen with.

Specs at a glance:

  • 4.3” WideScreen display (FWVGA)
  • 8 MP camera with great performance in low light, and HDR capabilities
  • Battery Stamina Mode
  • NFC
  • Sony Entertainment included
  • 1GHz dual core processor, 1 GB Ram
  • Micro SD card capabilities

Look and Feel:

Oh this is beautiful. This is stylish. The unique opaque profile of the phone may look a bit odd before you hold it, but it fits ever so perfectly in your hand, and it looks and feels great. A premium look means that you will never be shy to bring it out and show it off.

The Camera:

This is one of the highlights of this phone. The camera has been designed well with a good interface, which is good as this means that Sony is returning to its roots when it comes to mobiles. Great at night time picture taking as well as HDR results, this is a good camera to have handy in your pocket at all times.

The TV OFF effect:

Something that stood out for me personally. Every time you hit the power button, the screen has this effect which looks just like an old style TV turning off. Not much to write home about, but it is the little things that impress.

Talking of impressive…

Yeah, the phone is built extremely well. You can take the back off to expose a micro SD slot which means you have expandable memory to hold all those photos.

The Android experience:

Much like the other Sony Xperia phones, this has the Sony skin on top, but it is non intrusive to your Android experience and gives you a good feel. The processor is good enough to handle most apps and will give you a good experience

Value for money:

While most carriers haven’t announced prices yet, this is designed for the mid-range consumer, and that makes this extremely good value for money.

Verdict:

Stylish. Beautiful. Great feel. Good phone. Even better camera. Sony entertainment. Great price. Apart from being ever so slightly thicker due to the opaque curved back, this is an extremely good phone.
