Fitbit release Windows Phone app

Fitbit are a leading name in activity monitors for all of you healthy types, and their devices are being used by many to monitor their exercise and routines, and sleep patterns. They also pack in a web dashboard, and apps for your mobile devices. Today, they have announced the release of a Windows Phone 8 app, which means this is the only activity monitor that spans all the smart phone range out there (not counting Blackberry quite yet!).

Fitbit launches new Windows 8 application complimenting existing apps on iOS and Android platforms

London – 10th April, 2013 – Fitbit, the market leader in the digital health and fitness category, has today revealed that the Fitbit One™ and Fitbit Zip™ wireless activity and sleep trackers now offer  Windows 8 users the ability to track physical activity with a new app. The app, compatible over numerous devices, provides Windows users increased flexibility in tracking and monitoring their Fitbit activity stats.

Fitbit has previously launched apps for iPhone and Android smartphone users, and their latest app offering, available from the Windows store, means that Fitbit now provide the only wireless activity trackers on the market to offer apps for iOS, Android and Windows platforms.

Gareth Jones, General Manager of Fitbit EMEA said:

”Allowing people to use Fitbit wireless activity trackers on a number of different devices is vital to our aim of making the UK more active in their everyday lives. We already offer Fitbit users the ability to access their statistics through Apple and Android devices. Our new Windows app now brings us a step closer to addressing the entire smartphone market.”

The Windows app enables you to view graphs of your activity levels, sleep and weight and gives you a clear picture of your health and fitness trends. It provides daily and historical graphs of your step, calorie burn and floor climbing patterns and will feedback on progress against your daily and longer term goals.

The app also offers weight, body fat and BMI trend graphs and allows you to see your nightly sleep patterns, enabling you to see how you measure up against Fitbit friends and discover who is the most active.
